Successfully completed the project "SWAP waste activities" for raising the awareness of the young generation on MJU science week-a total of 14390 participants from schools in northern Thailand.
SWAP team Thailand; MJU, together with CMU, organized events and activities to raise awareness on solid waste management for school students and university students during Thailand National Science day. The event was held at the Faculty of Science, Maejo University, from the 18th to the 20th of August, 2022.
This event was divided into three competition activities; SWAP waste to artwork, SWAP waste to innovation, and Let’s SWAP your e-waste. We have financial support from the Faculty of Science, Green university project, co-sponsored by AIS, one of the biggest mobile networks. This event not only gained a lot of interest from primary school, secondary school, and high school students to join the competition but also gathered a large number of participants - a total of 14,390 participants from schools in northern Thailand.
Finally, the event also provided knowledge on 3Rs for household solid waste management, E-waste management and promoted SWAP services through the dissemination of specific material such as posters and social media to raise awareness both inside the university and outside.
